Human Capacity for Frontline Teams

Your frontline carries the organisation. Who is carrying them?

A 90 day programme that restores capacity in the people who keep your services running, with health measures before and after so you can see what changed.

The problem

Does any of this sound familiar?

  • Sickness absence that climbs after every busy period.
  • Experienced people leaving for roles with less pressure.
  • Wellbeing offers that nobody on shift has time to use.
  • Teams who are present, professional and quietly running on empty.

Most wellbeing support assumes people have time, a desk and a quiet room. Frontline staff rarely have any of the three.

The approach

It starts with the body, because that is where frontline stress lives.

Long shifts, broken sleep and constant demand keep the nervous system on high alert. Over time that shows up as fatigue, illness, short tempers and mistakes. This programme works on the physiology underneath: how people breathe under pressure, how they recover between shifts, and the daily habits that rebuild their energy.

  1. Diagnose

A baseline of where your teams are losing capacity, so the programme targets what matters most.

  2. Regulate

Guided breathwork that teaches people to calm their stress response, on shift and off it.

  3. Interrupt

Facilitated breathwork journeys that help people let go of the patterns that drain them most.

  4. Vitalise

Every pillar of lifestyle medicine: sleep, nutrition, movement, stress, connection and healthy habits, made practical for shift work.

  5. Evidence

Measured before and after, so you can show your board and your people what changed.

Deeper health insight

Add clinical health measures when you need harder data.

The programme stands on its own. Where you want objective health data, we can bring in a clinical partner to take health measures before and after the programme. You then see change in physical markers, not only in how people say they feel.

90 days

A focused programme built around the realities of shift work.

Your teams

Cohorts shaped to your workforce, including larger frontline groups.

Before & after

Validated measures, with clinical health checks added where you choose.

The same method, measured

With 50 senior leaders at a large UK enterprise, this approach reduced average perceived stress by 25% and increased average wellbeing by 20% over four months.

Measured with PSS-10 and WHO-5. Average change across the cohort.

Who leads it

Clinically led, from the first session to the final report.

The programme is designed and led by Bal Matharu, an Advanced Respiratory Physiotherapist with more than 25 years of clinical practice, much of it in the NHS. She is a PhD researcher in breathwork and nervous system regulation, a Lifestyle Medicine Practitioner, and sits on the Scientific Board of the International Breathwork Foundation.

Questions organisations ask

Before you book

Can the programme fit around shift patterns?

Yes. We plan the schedule with you around your rotas, so people can take part without leaving services short.

Do we need a clinical partner?

No. The programme runs on its own with validated measures. A clinical partner is an option for organisations that also want physical health markers measured before and after.

Is breathwork safe for everyone?

Every participant completes a health disclosure first and works to their own ability. Sessions are designed and led by an Advanced Respiratory Physiotherapist.

Will managers see individual results?

No. Each person sees their own snapshot. The organisation sees anonymised, collective results only.
