The Science of Healing

  • Polyvagal Theory (Porges): Healing begins only when the nervous system feels safe. In fight, flight, or shutdown, recovery can’t occur.

  • Cell Danger Response (Naviaux): Chronic illness reflects cells stuck in “alarm mode,” unable to switch back into healing.

  • Trauma Research (van der Kolk): The body holds what the mind cannot resolve and regulation must include releasing stored survival energy.
