For HR and People Leaders

Your people are your largest cost and your greatest risk
Chronic stress is compounding both

BODY | MIND IQ works with organisations to address workforce stress at the source, not through symptom management, but through the physiology beneath it. Clinical methodology. Measurable outcomes. Reporting built for the boardroom.

No commitment. We will tell you honestly if this is the right fit for your organisation.

The Cost of the Status Quo

The data is already in your HR system

You do not need us to tell you there is a problem. Your absence figures, your attrition rate, your EAP referral trends, the picture is already there. What follows is what it costs to leave it unaddressed.

6–9×

Months of salary

The average cost to replace a mid-level employee, once recruitment, onboarding, and lost productivity are accounted for. One departure from a team under sustained pressure rarely travels alone.

£28bn

Annual cost to UK employers

The CIPD's estimated cost of work-related stress, anxiety, and poor mental health to UK organisations each year. It is not an abstract figure. It is in your payroll data, your sickness records, and your exit interviews.

3rd

Leading cause of voluntary attrition

Burnout consistently ranks among the top three reasons people leave organisations. Most exit interviews do not name it directly. Most people do not feel safe naming it. That does not mean it is not the reason.

None of this is new information to a CPO or CHRO. What is rarer is an intervention that addresses the cause rather than the cost. That is the work we do.

Why the Budget Hasn't Moved the Numbers

You have probably already
invested in all of this

The interventions most organisations reach for are not wrong, they are working on the wrong layer.

Chronic stress does not resolve because someone has access to a meditation app, or because their manager attended a mental health first aid course. It resolves when the nervous system's physiological state changes and that requires a different kind of input entirely.

This is the gap BODY | MIND IQ works in. Not awareness. Not signposting. Not access. The source itself: the nervous system and the physiology that determines how much pressure a person can hold before they begin to break.

When the physiology changes, the engagement scores follow. The attrition numbers follow. The leadership capacity follows. Not as a side effect of feeling better, as a direct result of functioning differently.

What you have already tried

  • Employee Assistance Programme subscriptions

  • Mindfulness and meditation apps

  • Mental health awareness training

  • Resilience workshops

  • Flexible working policies

  • Wellbeing days and mental health champions

  • Manager coaching and leadership development

Each of these addresses how people feel about stress. None of them change the nervous system state that generates it.

What BODY | MIND IQ Does

This is not a wellness programme

Call it human capital infrastructure. The physiological foundation that makes everything else your people do more sustainable, more effective, and more measurable.

It is clinically designed

Bal Matharu is an Advanced Respiratory Physiotherapist with over 25 years of NHS and specialist clinical practice. Her PhD research measures precisely how breathwork interventions shift cellular inflammation, nervous system state, and psychosomatic markers in working adults. Every session is built on that evidence base. Not on instructor certification. Not on intuitive practice. On peer-reviewed clinical science.

It is measurable

Every programme includes pre and post health marker assessment. You receive physiological data on what changed, by how much, and across which dimensions of workforce resilience. That data consolidates into your boardroom report. Your CFO will ask for evidence. We built the infrastructure to give it to you before you have to ask.

It works collectively

Groups who work together in a clinically facilitated nervous system session undergo co-regulation, a measurable physiological phenomenon in which shared experience generates trust and social coherence that outlasts the session. This is why teams feel and perform differently after it. It is not mood. It is physiology. And it shows up in your team data.

Trusted by Organisations. Recognised by the media

Bal Matharu has spoken at major wellness summits and featured across broadcast media on nervous system regulation and Lifestyle Medicine.

The Intelligence Platform

Your CFO will ask for evidence
We built it for you

Every BODY | MIND IQ corporate programme includes access to a workforce intelligence platform built specifically for this work. The boardroom dashboard consolidates pre and post physiological data, workforce resilience scores, session outcomes, and executive summaries into a single view.

Download the boardroom report at any point. It is formatted for a board pack, not a wellness newsletter. Below are 2 metrics from the sample report on the workforce intelligence dashboard.

How We Work Together

From first call to boardroom report

Every engagement follows the same sequence. It starts with understanding your organisation, not selling you a package.

01

The Diagnostic Call

30 minutes. We look at where your organisation is right now, your people, the pressure points, what has already been tried. We tell you honestly whether this work is the right fit and where to start.

02

Programme Design

We map the right stream, the right cohort structure, and the right cadence for your organisation. You see projected outcomes and a clear investment picture before anything begins.

03

Delivery

Bal Matharu leads every session. Pre and post pulse assessments run alongside each programme cycle, so the data trail begins from session one.

04

Boardroom Reporting

Your leadership team has live dashboard access throughout. At the close of each cycle, a downloadable boardroom report is ready for executive review and board presentation.

About Bal Matharu

The person who leads every session.

Bal Matharu spent over 25 years as an Advanced Respiratory Physiotherapist before her own experience of burnout during COVID changed what she understood about human health, human limits, and why the standard clinical toolkit was not enough.

Her PhD research examines how breathwork shifts cellular inflammation, nervous system state, and chronic psychosomatic symptoms in clinical populations. She is a Lifestyle Medicine practitioner, a Scientific Board Member of the International Breathwork Foundation, and sits on the Board of the Abhyas Institute for Universal Awareness. In 2026, she proposed a pilot project to the Ministry of Health in Mauritius to bring nervous system regulation and Lifestyle Medicine into national healthcare as an intervention for non-communicable diseases.

Bal's work has been featured across media outlets exploring the science behind breath, the body's stress response, and why what happens in the nervous system drives outcomes in both mental and physical health.

She works with small corporate cohorts personally, there is no associate team delivering on her behalf. Every session is led by Bal, that is a deliberate decision, and it is what makes the outcomes consistent.
